Education required: Grade 12 diploma/GED and/or equivalent experience

Experience required: 1 - 2 years

Wage/Salary: $20/hr

Duties: • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, email, mail • Photocopying and printing documents • Data entry: maintain contact lists and databases • Organize and provide minutes for Board Meetings and AGM • Produce and distribute correspondence/mail • Book travel arrangements (flights, cars, hotels, etc.) • Maintain and process the Membership and Volunteer applications • Desktop Publishing to develop and edit the ANHN quarterly newsletter • Maintain supplies and inventory of office supplies • Filing, typing, copying, scanning etc. • Maintain administrative computer filing systems • Other duties as required


The Administrative assistant will have excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. The candidate will be able to assist management and all visitors to the organizations by handing office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail and email, making reservations or travel arrangements, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.

A successful administrative assistant should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. Administrative assistants must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, administrative assistants should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others.

Qualifications:

·        Proven admin or assistant experience

·        Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

·        Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

·        Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

·        Excellent written and verbal communications skills

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office and Office 365

·        Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, fax machines)

·        Strong organizational skills
