Awasiw is closing...

It is with extreme regret that All Nations Hope Network announces that Awasiw will no longer be open 24/7 starting on June 27, 2022, at 11 PM.

The new hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 9 am – 5 pm.

The current fiscal funding necessitates this closure and ANHN does not see this situation changing in the near future.

When we first opened Awasiw during the winter of December 2020, the staff was determined to provide the most basic needs to the community through Outreach services. The numbers of people that came through the door was overwhelming and Awasiw and the Place of Hope staff worked hard to take care of the growing needs of the community in the middle of the pandemic.

However, it has been a struggle to continue to access funding for Awasiw and the funding we are receiving right now only covers 3 staff members for Awasiw, so we were left with no option but to make the decision to close our 24/7 shifts.

We would like to thank the YWCA and the City of Regina who were there in the beginning of Awasiw when it was first needed. We would also like to thank the Regina Treaty/Status Indian Services (RTSIS) for their continued support, and of course our funders from Reaching Home.

We would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication to helping the people that came through the doors of Awasiw/The Place of Hope.

We would like to thank all the people that donated to this cause since we have been open, although the need for donations does not stop as we continue to keep the evening shift operating.

All Nations Hope Network will continue to provide programming and services to the community as we have since 1995 and will continue to do for the foreseeable future.
